for you to feel better about your own house

i was cleaning out closets and sheds.  remember?

and then my washer died right in the middle of it.  reminds me of another time.

and then the laundry from a family of six piled up.  so i spent 8 hours at my in-laws today doing laundry.

and then my double pink-eyed daughter threw up.  twice.  once in the van and once in their house.

and tomorrow we have our first soccer game.  and my parents and sister are coming for my oldest’s birthday.  and the washing machine parts place is only open til noon.

and all 4 children are still fighting sleep.  and i want a shower.  and i still have to clean for tomorrow or else my family will think i never clean.  and really i do.

and this is what my whole house looks like right now:

  • This only looks like our house, but we only have 4. Hope you get your washer fixed. Washers are a must. We love ours. It was a pain to go to the laundry mat every week with a 2 year old.

Good luck on the soccer game.

  • Bless your heart! I totally feel for you. My house has looked like that with only 3! And it’s really hard to blame a huge mess on a baby! Now that he’s a little older and pulls everything out, it’s easier. LOL. Good luck with everything!

  • Oh girl, I think when my family comes, I am more paranoid about my house than anyone else! Maybe I should take a pic of mine and show you right now so that you will feel better. You moved your computer????

  • I will take pictures of mine and email em to ya. ;)

I scramble everytime anyone shows up,kids sure can do wonders for a house…..LOLO

  • What did you do all week…..well you ate bon bons and watched soap opera’s of course!

  • this morning, chris asked me where the shorts he wore last weekend were, and i had to tell him that they’re still in the washer. Oops!! I was doing so good, but then we were gone for four days and our house blew up or something. Plus, jackson started preschool this past week, and though he’s gone for five hours a day it seems more like 45 minutes.

    no judgment here, girl!

  • Wow – the “elves” must have worked all night cause it sure looked nice today! We had a great time today, as usual. Grandad said, on the way home,” isn’t it nice that we can enjoy the kids and then go home?” Oh, the joys of grandparentism! Love ya’ll, Granna P.S. We have the best looking, sweetest, and smartest grandkids in the world!

  • What did you do? You lived and focused on your children more than your house. And that’s a good thing. Maybe not a Martha Stewart-like “good thing,” but nonetheless, a good thing.

Actually I remember this story about two sisters and Jesus and whether it’s better to take care of all the stuff or spend time with people. If I remember correctly, he said the people part was “the better part.” So it’s not just good — it’s better. :-)

I’ll email pix of mine someday. You’ll be thrilled to be in such good company.
